Oregon lighthouses have been operating for over 120 years, some still remain active. From Yaquina Head, view the stormy sea looking out through windows. The Umpqua Lighthouse lantern is a specular marvel with over 2 tons of glass and 1,000 prisms. Bandon, Cape Blanco, and Heceta Head lighthouses are all part of a rich history linked to high seas danger and shipwrecks. The Coos Bay Coast Guard now manages the active lighthouses by remote control.
