Waldo's unique water quality is so pure the visibility is over 120 feet deep. Volunteer scientists are worried, however, that the quality may be decreasing. Fish stocking and other human interactions with the lake, have greatly altered the natural biological communities of the lake. Waldo-lovers urge visitors to respect the purity of the lake and hope that government dollars will help to protect it.
