Only three Oregon State troopers use boats, ski mobiles, horses and foot power to patrol 3,500 square miles of rugged backcountry in Wallowa County. Officers enforce Fish and Game violations on the Snake River, and investigate archaeological crime. Officers also check in on historic cabins.
