As chemicals threaten the soil and cause harmful agricultural runoff into rivers, many Oregon vineyards have turned towards organic methods of growing grapes. Although it is a much more difficult way to farm, organic growers take pride in their final product. Sustainable vineyards must be certified in order to call themselves organic, but with over nine different types of certifications, questions remain about whether or not buyers actually care.
