Oregon Public Broadcasting

Archaeologists Emily Mueller and Ethan Epstein share their research at Steens mountain in remote southeastern Oregon. Their study focuses on a camp site used for nearly 2000 years by some of Oregon's first native peoples. Explore the sometimes harsh, but beautiful landscape that helped support them. In addition some unique artifacts are uncovered such as a utilitarian grindstone and stone tools, but also decorative and artistic sea shells.
