The mega-fish of the Columbia River baffles the experts. They’re forming giant, lazy “sturgeon balls” for no discernable reason. Discovered by accident by a camera sent for a dam inspection, scientists really don’t know what the sturgeon are doing. Farther up the Columbia, numbers of young sturgeon are dwindling. The Yakama Nation is stepping in to help by spawning sturgeon in a brand new hatchery.
