Gray Whales

Contrary to popular lore, the best time to see gray whales is late summer, not winter, along Oregon’s coast. An unconventional scientist watches them when they come to eat, not when they migrate. Her research has shown they eat mysid shrimp which are present by the trillions in kelp beds just feet off shore.
