Oregon Experience: Oregon Wine: Grapes of Place

What's So Special About Oregon Pinot Noir?

Every year in late July, wine and food lovers alike gather at Linfield College in McMinnville for the world famous International Pinot noir Celebration. Launched in 1987 by the pioneers of the Oregon wine industry along with the McMinnville Chamber of Commerce, it showcases Pinot noir, the delicate red grape from Burgundy, France. Today Pinot noir is Oregon’s premier signature wine.

At the Celebration last July the Oregon Experience team talked with Sommelier and Wine Director of the Michael Mina Group of San Francisco, Rajat Parr, about this special grape and why people from all corners of the globe come to celebrate its elegance and versatility.
