Oregon Experience: Oregon at War

Explore Stories

As part of the national premier of Ken Burns' The War, OPB is participating in an effort to collect stories from the World War II generation. What was it like for Oregonians who fought on the front lines during World War II? And how did life change here at home? We'd love to hear your personal and family stories. Use our new Share Your Story tool to submit your story and to explore other submissions from Oregon and around the country.

If you have photographs, film, written histories or letters you'd like preserved for future generations, contact the Veterans Legacy Preservation Project at the National Combat History Archive in Hillsboro, Oregon. They can digitize copies of the material and return the originals if you prefer.
