Facets of a Crisis
It's no secret that the United States faces a growing health care crisis in the next 15 to 20 years. What is less well known is what effect rising costs and an aging, medically-needy Baby Boom generation will have in rural communities. Rural life creates unique issues and dilemmas for health care providers and their individual patients, dilemmas that can affect a person's quality of life or even his or her life itself.
In this section we'll examine the impact that rural health care issues have on women, migrant workers and those with mental health conditions.
