The Show must go on...
Back in pioneer days, Union ranchers relied on each other to help with round-ups, branding, and cattle drives. A ranching competition was formalized with the 1908 Eastern Oregon Livestock Show. The annual event is still going strong, drawing spectators, stockowners (and buyers), and rodeo contestants. And after all the excitement dies down, a core of long-term volunteers gets cracking on the work for the next year's Show.
