part oneThe lottery has expanded from scratch tickets to video poker and later this year, will include electronic slot machines. However, the amount retailers get from offering these gambling games varies-- and is subject to much contention.
This week we explore the economics behind the lottery, the profits lottery retailers retain, and take a look at the state's reliance on gambling revenue.
