June 3, 2005 — Rogue River Journal: A Winter Alone
In November 2000, John Daniel drove to a cabin on Oregon's Rogue River, and dropped out of civilization. He lived in isolation until spring -- with no radio, no music, no news, no clocks, and no calender. Just Daniel and his isolation.
During this time, Daniel wrote a memoir. This week, we'll talk to Daniel about how the Oregon landscape influenced his writing, and hear some passages from the book.
Two of Daniel's previous books, "The Trail Home" and "Looking After", won the Oregon Book Award for Literary Nonfiction.
Host: Christy George
Guest: John Daniel, author of 'Rogue River Journal: A Winter Alone'
