Science Fiction writers seem to love the Pacific Northwest. From William Gibson to Ursula K. Le Guin to Octavia Butler, there are dozens of well-known sci-fi writers living here.

So what attracts sci-fi writers to the Pacific Northwest? How does the unique character of the Northwest find it’s way into many sci-fi classics?

This week, we’ll talk about the Golden Age of Science Fiction, how science fiction has changed over the years, and what Pacific Northwest experiences sci-fi writers draw upon to use in their books.

Host: Christy George
