December 23, 2005 — Maynard Orme & Public Broadcasting
Oregon Public Broadcasting is well known by public broadcasting fans, even those who don’t live in the Pacific Northwest. One of the driving forces behind this popularity is Maynard Orme.
For nearly two decades, OPB CEO Maynard Orme has had a front row seat to some of public broadcasting’s most intense political struggles. But even in the face of these challenges, Orme helped make OPB one the nation’s top local public television and radio stations.
Orme is retiring at the end of the year. This week, he shares some thoughts on his career - and talks about the challenges faced by public broadcasting.
Host: Morgan Holm
Guests: Maynard Orme, CEO of Oregon Public Broadcasting from 1986-2005.
