The rebuilding efforts in the Gulf Coast are underway in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Several Oregon urban planning and sustainability experts are involved in this effort, and trying to create an environmentally sustainable master plan.

But how are their efforts being received by hurricane victims? How do people feel about long-term planning vs. the desire to quickly rebuild?

Today, we check in with several local people who have been involved in the rebuilding effort both in New Orleans and the entire Gulf Coast region.

Host: Christy George

Guests: Shane Endicott, executive director of Rebuilding Center of Our United Villages; David Ausherman, senior associate with Fregonese-Calthorpe; and Bill Lennertz, National Charrette Institute.
