Many areas of science research, such as climate change, stem cells, and forest policy, are frequently brought up in political debates.

Scientists themselves are usually cautious about wading into these political debates, but a group of West Coast scientists is starting to speak out about their research—specifically on the impact of climate change on the Pacific Ocean.

Today, we catch up with four of these scientists at the Hopkins Marine Station in Monterey, California to hear their thoughts on communicating their scientific research.

Host: Christy George

Guest: Mark Carr, UC Santa Cruz, Long Marine Lab; Gretchen Hofmann, UC Santa Barbara; Steve Palumbi, Stanford University; and Robert Warner, UC Santa Barbara, Marine Science Insitute.
