part oneHip hop stars flaunt gold and diamonds as a status symbol. De Beers tells us a diamond ring is necessary to propose marriage. And gold has long been used as jewelry.
But the market price of jewelry doesn't always reflect the true cost of diamonds and gold.
This week, we're exploring that true cost, and also looking at what drives consumer demand for jewelry.
