Oregon Territory
November 3, 2006 — Election Preview
Once the votes are tallied next week, Democrats in the Oregon Legislature hope to find themselves holding a majority of the seats in the House. They'll need to win a number of close races to do that.
Meanwhile, Republicans hope to pick up at least one seat in the Oregon Senate where the Democrats currently hold a majority.
The 2005 Legislature had 17 Democrats and 11 Republicans in the Senate. The House had 33 Republicans and 27 Democrats.
On the show this week, we're taking a look at the House and Senate races and why they matter.
Host: Colin Fogarty
Guests: David Steves, Eugene Register-Guard state capitol reporter; Janie Har, The Oregonian political reporter; and Peter Wong, Salem Statesman-Journal state capitol reporter & political writer.
