William L. Sullivan writes some of the best known hiking guides for Oregon. He's personally hiked every trail in his books and has backpacked across the state staying mostly in wilderness areas.

Sullivan shoots the photos and illustrates the maps for his books, and even founded a publishing company to publish the books.

This week, we chat with Sullivan about wilderness risks, experiences, and spirituality.
