Dedicated to the memory of Linus Pauling, this dynamic sculpture is based on the structure of the alpha helix, discovered by Pauling. It stands before Pauling’s childhood home, finally calling attention to a great scientist who had been overlooked in his own home town. Julian Voss-Andreae is one of the most exciting young sculptors in the northwest. He holds degrees in experimental physics and sculpture. A series of his works are based on the protein building blocks of life. Check out the Oregon Art Beat clip about him on his website: http://julianvossandreae.com
