Any new word on Beaverton School District opening delay? We've been getting more snow here, but the School District Web site is down (probably overloaded), so I can't get an update on whether the 2-hour delay is still in effect or changed.

Out here in Yamhill County, in the Yamhill - Carlton District we've signed up for their "FlashAlert" e-mail update regarding snow closures. Here it is: "Yamhill-Carlton: 2 hours late, no AM kind, staff reports UPDATE" --- Not much to go by if you live up in the hills and are served by a bus? What are the busses doing? Do the kids get ready their customary 45 minutes early (though 2 hours late) and hike down to a possible bus, or do we let them hang out later at home, then truck em into school?
Are the buses on 'Snow Routes' Yamhill Carlton? Antsy kids and flustered parents need to know!

It would appear to me that Hillsboro SD has not decided what they are going to do. Is no news from them good news do you think?

April that is great! Yes, snow is the norm here, and schools are closed when there are "feet" of over night snowfall. This is to the great displeasure of my kids,I'll have you know, who miss the Valley days when an inch caused school closures.
You do a great job! You have a devoted listener in Sunriver, and I appreciate all that you do.

Good news, Vi! We have indeed worked out a deal with Bend-La Pine, Sisters, and Redmond schools. They let us know by phone when they have closures, which I then read on-air and post. However, today's snowfall in Central Oregon is hardly enough to shake the stout souls east of the Cascades who are used to this sort of thing. That's why you're not seeing any closings from Central Oregon on this page. I'm working my way through schools in Eastern Oregon,a sking them to report to us as well.

I live in Sunriver, and listen to OPB every morning, but haven't checked out the website in ages. I am shocked that the Western side schools have already posted their closures! They are on the ball over there! Can you put pressure on the Bend school district? They need to forced to make their decisions earlier! Do you post the Central Oregon districts on the website? If so, I will check your website since no one in our area is quick to broadcast them.

Sorry, what you see is what we got. I just noticed a 7:00 update that mentions an 11 o clock start for EI classes, but I don't think that's what you had in mind...
