When will the lights come back on? Check here for updates from local utilities about restoring power around Oregon and SW Washington after the storm.

Utilities:

Cowlitz County PUD: As of 1:30 p.m. Monday: All Cowlitz PUD electric customers are back in service. As mentioned in earlier communications, a total of 4,500 customers lost power during the high-wind period starting at 3:15 on Sunday afternoon and extending into early Monday morning. Work on the final large outage, 380 customers in Ryderwood, WA, was completed at 9:45 a.m. Monday. The peak wind gust measured overnight at our dispatch center was 40 mph. PUD crews will continue working Monday afternoon to remove limbs from power lines and to make other miscellaneous repairs, although no one is out of power. Cowlitz PUD is the electric utility in Cowlitz County, WA...serving 46,700 electric customers. Its office and operations center are in Longview. UPDATE

PGE: 10:15 a.m. update

PGE line crews fast work continues. The total number of customers without power is now about 10,000. At 7:00 this morning it was 18,000 and at the peak, late last night 65,000. Restoration crews reported major progress through the early morning hours.

Larger outages include the following areas: Oregon City, including a new outage with two trees down in the Redlands - Henrici area(1,100, Mollala (1,800), Estacada (1,600), Milwaukie (1,000), West Linn(500), and Sandy and the Mt. Hood Corridor - Highway 26 (600+). PGE crews worked all night and will restore remaining outages as quickly as possible.

Because many remaining outages are smaller in size and scattered throughout hundreds of square miles, it will take now take longer for crews to move from site to site. The line crews will be out all day, and they appreciate their customers' patience.

The bulk of the wind damage took place from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m, assisting in the recover effort.

Please call in and report it to PGE at 503-464-7777 (in Portland); 503-399-7717 (Salem) or 1-800-544-1795 (outside the Portland and Salem areas).

Anyone who notices that the lights are still out at their home, but the neighbors have power, should check the home's circuit breakers or fuses. If they're "on", call PGE again. The problem could be a line into an individual home. If you leave a light turned on near a street-side window, it makes this evaluation easier for everyone, including PGE crews. UPDATE
