Sounds for the Holidays: Russian Church Choir Tweaks Traditional Music
Posted by April Baer at December 21, 2006 07:54 AM
This month OPB Radio has been searching out music for the holidays. We found Oregonians making music in a variety of settings--sacred and secular.

Today, OPB's April Baer visits a Russian Church choir that draws on a rich mix of cultural traditions.
The Slavic Evangelical Church Sulamita is one of the largest in the area. At full strength, its choir is well over a hundred. Services also make time for thrillingly beautiful small group music.

Hear the story! (MP3, about 6 minutes.)
