Imagine a co-ed version of Boy and Girl Scouts for the digital age; one where kids get to make up their own rules. That's DIY.org. Their motto is: Get Skills. Be Awesome. And they have badges like Instrument Maker, Circuit Bender, Backyard Farmer, and about 100 others.

Kids can complete activities called challenges; to get a badge (also called a patch). They upload pictures and videos of their creative projects and share them on the site, but they often have to step away from the screen to complete the challenges.

And, in some places, kids and parents are getting together in person to work on their projects together. That's what the PDX DIY Club is all about. To see pictures from the club, and to hear more about Destination DIY, head over here. Just look for the episode called "DIY Kids".
