The Big Reveal: Lubbesmeyers' Jubelale Commission

OPB | June 20, 2014 11:50 p.m. | Updated: June 27, 2014 11:34 a.m. | Bend, Oregon

The utterly charming Lisa and Lori Lubbesmeyer dropped in with a surprise for our taping audience: their recently completed fiber work, commissioned by Deschutes Brewery. The image will grace tens of thousands of bottles of the company's seasonal favorite Jubelale. Expect to see this work on holiday tables all over the region this winter.

Inspired by a sledding trip, the Lubbesmeyers layered fabric, stitching in turns.

During our conversation, Lisa and Lori talked about their foray into painting, and how it led them into new way to collaborate. Here's the picture Lori mentioned in her story of the very first time they painted together. Eerie, huh? Lisa's is on the left, Lori's work is on the right
