What is Think Out Loud?
We sometimes call ourselves the radio show that listens. Or the show that's talking about what the Northwest is talking about. The fuller answer is that we're a daily show about politics and global issues, music and sports, books and the environment — anything and everything that can sustain an hour of live, unscripted conversation. And, crucially, we're a web site that feeds into — and off of — that radio conversation.
Think Out Loud was born from the desire to create a space in Oregon and southwestern Washington for a civil, engaged, far-ranging dialogue informed first and foremost by experience. On the air and online, we strive to be a show on which listening to each other is more important than talking at each other.
We want to create a space where entrenched views are challenged, surprises are welcomed, and a globally concerned conversation is expanded by a regional lens.
And we want to hear from you: about show topics and guest suggestions, about articles we should read and sites we should visit. We want to hear about your passions and your concerns, your curiosities and questions. We want to know what we're doing right and, even more importantly, what we can do better.
So: welcome. We hope you'll stay a while, commenting and calling and questioning and listening.

Think Out Loud was launched with generous financial support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. As part of OPB's commitment to support development of similar broadcast/online programs throughout the public radio system, we are making available summaries of the research we conducted with CPB support, as well as several "best practices" documents we have developed in connection with the program.
These documents are intended as resources for stations that are interested in launching or adapting a talk show with a significant online component. If you have questions, or would like more information, please contact Morgan Holm, Senior VP and Chief Content Officer, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 503-293-1975.
