Award-Worthy Books

This year — for the first time ever — the finalists of the National Book Awards will be announed live on the radio. It’s all happening right here on Think Out Loud next Tuesday, October 12th. The broadcast will happen from Literary Arts new space in downtown Portland. There will be a video stream and live blog with new content and reactions as the finalists are announced throughout the hour. The only thing there won’t be a lot of time for that hour is calls. So that is why we want to hear from you now. What have you read this year that has moved you or changed you? What has brought you to tears or made you laugh out loud? What have you read that you think is particularly award-worthy?

Editor’s Note: We’re also collecting your particular recommendations for National Book award finalists by category on the special website created for next week’s show. We urge you to share your particular recommendations for the National Book Awards in poetry and fiction there. Places to add your non-fiction and young people’s literature recommendations will be posted soon.
