Containing The Two Bulls Fire Near Bend

The Two Bulls Fire in Central Oregon is threatening 250 homes, with 50 of those homes under an immediate evacuation order. So far, the fire — just seven miles outside Bend — has not burned any structures or caused any injuries. The blaze is burning over 6,800 acres and is five percent contained. Fire officials are concerned about the high winds that are in the forecast for today. Current firefighting costs are estimated at $1.23 million.

Officials have scheduled an informational public meeting for local residents tonight at 6 p.m. at Bend High School.
