Drought And Floods Threaten Oregon

Governor Kitzhaber declared a drought emergency in four Oregon counties Friday — the same day President Obama announced his plan to offer aid to farmers affected by drought in California. At the same time, the National Weather Service issued a flood watch warning for parts of northwest Oregon.

The double threat of drought and floods are a problem for farmers and the state’s recreation industry. If the wet weather continues, Oregon could see more landslides like the one on I-84 in the Gorge Feb. 12.

How are you being affected by flooding or drought this winter?
