Jane Lynch is probably best known for her Emmy award-winning performance as Sue Sylvester, the snarky cheerleading coach on Fox’s hit musical show Glee. Surrounded by a number of cheerful characters, she delivers lines like this:

I’m gonna make it a habit to not stop and talk to students because this has been a colossal waste of my time.

And this:

I’m going to ask you to smell your armpits. That’s the smell of failure, and it’s stinking up my office.

But fans look back on her career and also love her for her theater work and her performances in films like The 40 Year Old Virgin and Best in Show. About 900 of those fans packed Portland’s Newmark Theater recently to hear Dave Miller talk to her about her career, her book Happy Accidents, and her future plans.

What’s your favorite Jane Lynch role? Do you watch Glee? What do you think of the Sue Sylvester character? What would you like to see Jane Lynch do next?
