Marissa Madrigal Is Interim Multnomah County Chair

After announcing her resignation on September 4th as former Multnomah County Chair Jeff Cogen’s chief of staff, Marissa Madrigal planned to move into another position within the county; this time in Human Resources.  However, those plans changed two days later when her former boss, Cogan, announced his resignation as Multnomah County Chair.

Madrigal had been designated in 2007 as Cogen’s successor were he to suddenly leave office and will hold the position as interim chair until a new one is elected in May 2014. She will be both the first Latina and the youngest person to fill the role of Multnomah County Chair.
