Medford teachers walked off the job last Thursday. The teachers’ union and the district had been trying unsuccessfully to negotiate a new contract for nearly a year. After closing for two days, the district reopened the schools this week, using support staff and some substitute teachers. As the strike enters its second week, we’ll check in on where the negotiations stand and how the community is reacting.
