The Portland Trail Blazers entered the second round of the NBA Playoffs in dramatic fashion Friday with a buzzer beating three-pointer from point guard Damian Lillard to beat the Houston Rockets 99-98.

The next match up is against another Texas-based team, the San Antonio Spurs — a formidable team. They’ve been to the NBA Finals three times in the past 10 years, most recently losing to the Miami Heat last year. In the past decade, they have also retained three star players Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili. They have also had the same coach, Gregg Popovich, for that period of time.

Ben Golliver, NBA writer for Sports Illustrated told OPB that “in this contest, they are the blue bloods and the Blazers are the new bloods.”

The Blazers may have reached the second round for the first time in 14 years, but now they have to make it past the Spurs.
