New Medical Malpractice Mediation System Now Underway


As of this month, Oregon has a new mediation system in place designed to help cut down on medical malpractice lawsuits, while still giving patients a way to redress grievances. The state legislature created the system last year, with Governor Kitzhaber leading the effort.

We’ll talk to the Kristian Foden-Vencil, health reporter for OPB News, about how the system will work, the benefits expected, as well as some of the criticisms it’s already drawn.
