Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber has some ambitious education goals for the state. One of those goals is to have a 100% graduation rater for the class of 2025. Those kids are in first grade now, and OPB is following some of them, to watch their progress towards the governor’s goal.

As part of the Class of 2025 project, OPB’s education reporter Rob Manning has been spending a lot of time with students, parents, teachers, and administrators at Earl Boyles Elementary in the David Douglas School District. We’ll talk with him about what he’s learned so far.

Rob Manning’s “Class of 2025” reports are part of American Graduate — Let’s Make It Happen! — a public broadcasting initiative to address the drop out crisis, supported by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
