As drought looms over the West Coast, carefully negotiated treaties determining who has access to water rights may have to be reexamined. Aaron Wolf, geography professor at Oregon State University, has spent his career resolving conflicts over water resources around the globe. He has worked with Palestinians and Israelis to portion out the Jordan river, and will travel to Afghanistan this summer to help negotiate water treaties there. Last week, Wolf was awarded an unrestricted $250,000 from the Heinz Family Foundation for his work.
