Janice Scroggins was an accomplished pianist, featured most recently as a solo performer at the Portland Jazz Festival. She died Tuesday night at the age of 58 from an apparent heart attack. Though she could certainly hold her own on stage, she was also known as a collaborator, playing alongside musicians such as Obo Addy, Curtis Salgado, and Linda Hornbuckle. She played on Esperanza Spalding’s Grammy award-winning album “Radio Music Society.” Scroggins’s sudden death has hit the music community hard

Did you know Janice Scroggins? Were you a fan of her music? What will you remember about her?
