Earlier this summer, Josh Ritter came on Think Out Loud to discuss his writing. While he’s mostly known as a clever songwriter, Ritter recently came out with his first novel, Bright’s Passage. The book chronicles the experiences of a soldier who returns to West Virginia after fighting in the First World War and the writing style mirrors Ritter’s lyrical, and sometimes historical songwriting style.

Are you a fan of Josh Ritter’s music? Have you read his book? How has his writing — in song or story — affected you?
