Solving Oregon's Childcare Dilemma

Childcare in America is expensive, but the price tag in Oregon can be especially hard to stomach. A study by Oregon State University showed that the median price of childcare in Oregon is nearly $12,000 a year. When that cost is taken as a percentage of yearly income, Oregon ranks as the third-least affordable state for childcare in the country.

To learn more, we’ll speak with Megan Irwin, who directs the state’s childcare agency. We’ll also be joined by Bobbie Weber, a researcher at Oregon State University’s Family Policy Program.
