As you likely realize, a lot of work goes into getting Dave ready for his interviews every day. Producers come up with ideas, research stories, pre-interview guests and often put their heart and s0ul into what you hear on the air. So, in this special end-of-year show Dave will talk to the Think Out Loud’s main producers to find out what moments stand out for them from 2013.

Here are the shows each producer chose to talk about:

Julie Sabatier:

  • Hearing from people immediately after becoming U.S. citizens at Portland’s Central Library
  • A remote from Peninsula School with Al Letson from the public radio show, State of the Re:Union
  • A show Julie heard (while on sabbatical to work on her show Destination DIY) about the Pacific lamprey

Dave Blanchard:

Dave Miller:

Allison Frost:

Sarah Rothenfluch:

  • A mother talking about the challenges of having a child with mental health issues
  • Micah Fletcher, a junior from Madison High School, reading his award-winning Verselandia poem
  • Dan Savage explaining why Portland is better than Seattle during our simulcast with KUOW
  • The Dalai Lama talking about why he is just like anyone else

What were your favorite Think Out Loud moments in 2013?
