If you’ve been to see live theatre or musical performance or even just dropped in on a local art gallery, there’s a good chance you’ve indirectly benefited from money distributed by the Oregon Culture Trust or the Oregon Arts Commission. Together these agencies distribute millions of dollars to individual artists, arts organizations, and cultural nonprofits.

Brian Rogers, who has many years of experience at the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, will be taking over in July as the executive director of the Oregon Cultural Trust and the Arts Commission. The announcement this week ends a months-long search to replace Chris D’Arcy, who left late last year, after 19 years. April Baer with OPB’s State of Wonder has been following the story and will introduce us to Rogers and give us an idea of what we can expect from his tenure.
