Dave Miller

Host, Think Out Loud

Dave Miller is the host of Think Out Loud. From 2008-2011, he worked as the online host of the show. Before coming to OPB, Dave was the senior producer of Open Source, a nationally syndicated radio show based at WGBH in Boston. He began his radio career as a documentary producer at Sound Portraits Productions and StoryCorps. His stories have aired on All Things Considered, Morning Edition, and Weekend Edition Saturday. Dave graduated from Harvard University with a degree in English.

Sarah Jane Rothenfluch

Executive Editor, News

Sarah Jane Rothenfluch is the executive editor of News for OPB and the executive producer of State of Wonder. Sarah was a part of the Think Out Loud team, including many years as executive producer, from when the show launched in 2008 until early 2015. She moved to Portland from San Diego where she worked for the NPR/PBS affiliate, KPBS. During her three years there she worked as the station's special projects producer and as the senior producer of their daily show, These Days. Originally from Canada, Sarah spent a number of years at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as a producer for numerous national shows, including This Morning, Sunday Morning and Richler on Radio. She also spent five years as a television field producer for TVOntario.

Sage Van Wing

Executive Producer, Think Out Loud

Sage Van Wing is the executive producer of Think Out Loud. She has produced daily news programs at Vermont Public Radio, KUOW in Seattle and KQED in San Francisco. She graduated from Stanford University, but missed the tech boat and got a degree in anthropology instead. While in Vermont, she became an expert sledder. While in Seattle, she learned to bike in the rain. Sage hopes someday to become an expert taxidermist.

Allison Frost

Senior Producer, Think Out Loud

Allison Frost is the senior producer and occasional host of Think Out Loud on OPB Radio. She's worn a variety of hats at OPB, including announcer, web producer, host, managing editor and senior producer. Before OPB, she led a local community radio station in Fresno, tutored English and sold books. She holds a B.A. in Speech Communication from California State University-Fresno and a Master of Science degree in Journalism and Communication from the University of Oregon. She likes to play with and blog about her two young children in and around Portland's Buckman neighborhood where she and her husband make their home.

Julie Sabatier

Producer, Think Out Loud

Julie Sabatier is a producer for Think Out Loud. She is also the creator and host of the public radio show and podcast Rendered. Julie joined the Think Out Loud team in 2008. Before that, Julie worked as the staff writer for Just Out. She has reported for Willamette Week and her radio work has appeared on The Splendid Table, NPR News, and 99% Invisible. She also served as podcast producer for Bitch Magazine. Julie graduated from Oberlin College with a bachelor’s degree in English. She grew up in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dave Blanchard

Producer, Think Out Loud

Dave Blanchard is a producer for Think Out Loud. He came to OPB by way of Seattle's NPR affiliate, KUOW, where he worked for a number of shows including Weekday, The Conversation, and Speakers' Forum. Dave graduated from Whitman College in Walla, Walla with a Bachelors in philosophy in 2009.

Steven Kray

Head Audio Engineer

Steven Vaughn Kray is the head audio engineer at OPB. He began his journey into the field of sound design at a small market television station running the audio console and creating graphics for KFXB in Dubuque, IA when he was 16 years old. Steven left home to pursue a degree in recording engineering at Full Sail University in Orlando, FL before taking a role as Sound Editor at AMS Pictures in Dallas, TX from 2000-2005. In his spare time he loves listening to records with his wife and baby girl, banging on the drums, collecting pinball machines and studying early computer technology. Saturday nights 10pm-Midnight he is the host of the funky radio show  The Drop Shop on KMHD.
