Abstract artist Allen Cox starts his large paintings from sketches, but most of the ideas morph and develop as he works with the canvas in his Springfield studio. His paintings include architectural forms as well as more organic shapes that can be seen as metaphors for “various aspects of the human condition,” according to Allen.
