Oregon Art Beat

Known for his visually detailed and socio-political-infused poster art, graphic artist Emek is sometimes called the “Thinking Person’s Poster Artist.” His mostly hand-drawn work is reminiscent of the classic rock art of the 1960s. While his limited edition silk screens have given way to the easier computer printing process, his work is still highly sought after by contemporary music’s hottest artists including Radiohead, Flaming Lips, Pearl Jam and many more. When Emek and his wife chose to move to Portland, they were soon followed by Emek’s father, mother and grandmother – all of whom are also working artists.
