Oregon Art Beat

Harry Stamper

North Bend longshoreman Harry Stamper is keeping the art of union folk songs alive. One of his songs, “We just come to work here; we don’t come to die” is nationally known. He sings this song and a few of his other compositions: old fashioned protest songs with a modern twist.

First Broadcast: 2002
