Oregon Art Beat

Leather Artist Larry Hugo

Moving beyond belts and saddles, Jacksonville artist Larry Hugo carves wild and complex scenes into leather, and paints them brilliantly. The work is painstaking, but the results are three-dimensional images that look like what would happen if Hieronymus Bosch had designed paint-by-numbers sets.

First Broadcast: 2007
Producer: KC Cowan
