“Live Wire” began more than a dozen years ago with two executive producers, a dynamic host, a house band, a writing team and a troupe of radio actors. But times change, tastes change — and sometimes hosts change.
The show is now driven by one executive producer and a “fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants” host. With no writing team and no troupe of radio actors, the vaudeville has been abandoned. “Live Wire” is still rich with variety and humor, but the audience-involved experience it now creates is quite different from the one it once offered.
