Oregon Art Beat

Painter Mike Russo

Mike Russo came to Oregon in the 1940s to teach art. He was a modernist, and his style was controversial. He taught generations of students at the Portland Museum Art School and continued to paint well into his 90’s. His influence is still felt in the Portland art community.
