Iraqi artist Samir Khurshid was drafted into military service along with every Iraqi man of his age. He was ordered to paint the country’s president, Saddam Hussein. Hussein liked the portraits so much that he ordered many others. In all, Khurshid painted 83 portraits of the President before he fled the country.
